Six Offices Relocating on Winter Haven Campus

A handful of offices on Polk State’s Winter Haven campus are permanently relocating this week from modules to the former Criminal Justice building, which is now part of the Health Center and Gym (WHC).

The Teaching and Learning Innovation Center (TLIC) and My Brother’s Keeper will relocate Tuesday, November 14; the Office of Communications and Public Affairs (OCPA) and Institutional Research Effectiveness and Planning (IREP) will move Wednesday, November 15; and Financial Aid Processing and Veterans Services will relocate Thursday, November 16.

During this time period, the approximate 20 parking spots directly in front of the modules will not be available.

The modules were installed in 2006 for Polk State Chain of Lakes Collegiate High School. When the Chain of Lakes High School Complex was constructed in 2011, the modules continued to fill a need for space for the six offices until the Polk State Center for Public Safety opened in 2016 and became the new home for the Criminal Justice program.

The former Criminal Justice building has been renovated to accommodate the offices and the modules will be removed during winter break. The area that is currently occupied by the modules will be irrigated and landscaped, which will improve the curb appeal of the campus.

“The new offices will have a more professional, student-friendly atmosphere that both staff and students will enjoy,” Provost Steve Hull said.
